5 Reasons Cal Spas Hot Tubs Help You Sleep at Night Our goal is not for you to stop counting sheep, but if the shoe fits, let’s count it in. Cal Spas takes pride in giving you the best hydrotherapy experience possible. One of the perks of hydrotherapy is the way you feel when you go to bed and most importantly when you wake up. 1. Relieve Fatigue The moment you wake up in the morning after being in the hot tub the previous night, your first thoughts will be, “wow I feel great!” All it takes is 10-15 min in a Cal Spa Hot Tub before you go to bed to wake up feeling well rested and energized for the day. 2. Massage your Muscles After a long stressful day; most people feel really tense when they go home and need to find a remedy to distress themselves… That’s where hydrotherapy comes into play. I guarantee that after a night-time session in a Cal Spa hot tub when coming home from a long day, you will feel a tremendous difference, in how you feel and what you can do. 3. Mentally Relax Some nights are long, some are sleepless, and some you wake up feeling like you never even slept. Well, we can change that. Taking a nighttime soak session will change all of that. Sit back and close your eyes, take a deep breath and dive in as the jets move the water around you. When you gaze at nature all around you and breathe in the fresh air while immersing yourself in a tub full of luxury, you are feeding your soul. 4. Get rid of Anxiety Anxiety comes and goes, and for some, it is always there. If you know what anxiety is, then you know that relief is not an easy solution. On the other hand, if you own a Cal Spas Hot Tub, relief comes easier than you may think. Escape your fears and troubles in a warm spa that hugs you with a blanket of jets. 5. Improve Well Being Ten minutes of immersion in whirlpools produced increases in pulse and finger temperature with increased feelings of well-being and decreased state anxiety.[1] When it comes to your well-being, we are talking about the overall happiness in your life. When you can meet the goal to relieve stress, you feel good, feel awake and ready to conquer than Cal Spas can also sleep at night! Because we know we are giving you the best hydrotherapy session in the industry. [1] Robiner WN. Psychological and physical reactions to whirlpool baths. J Behav Med. 1990;13:157–73. Practice Self-care with Our Hot Tubs If you keep up with blog content on the Internet, then you have probably read the term “self-care” somewhere, at some point. “Self-care” is, essentially, a term used to describe how you take care of yourself. It’s about taking the time to check in with you, and asking yourself what do I need in this moment? As self-care has become a prominent topic both on and offline, more and more lists of hobbies and activities, of recommendations and prescriptions, have surfaced. Cal Spas is here to add our recommendation to your list of self-care habits—dip into warm water. Warm water immersion is nothing new. It’s been around for ages, and for good reason: warm water tends to relieve many different types of pain. According to the Arthritis Foundation’s website, warm water immersion “reduces the force of gravity that’s compressing the joint, offers 360-degree support for sore limbs, can decrease swelling and inflammation and increase circulation.” The American Psychological Association (APA) estimates that millions of people suffer from chronic stress, meaning that millions of people have muscles in a constant tense state. Their website states that this chronic stress causes issues in multiple systems in the body, such as your respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems. A Cal Spas hot tub can help you take care of you. Immersing yourself in the warm waters of one of our hot tubs can help combat pain in joints, as well as relieve tension in muscles. If you could combat stress and better your health, why wouldn’t you?

Winterizing Your Hot Tub In many areas of the country, the temperature drops below 32°F (0°C). We recommend that you always have your spa full of water and running at normal spa temperatures (80°F to 100°F, 26.7°C to 37.8°C). This will help reduce the risk of freezing in your spa and your spa’s equipment. Warning: If you find the need to drain your spa, be aware of the potential of freezing in your spas equipment and plumbing. Even if the directions below are followed perfectly, there is no guarantee that your spa will not suffer freeze damage. Freeze damage is not covered by your warranty. Open all filter covers. Remove the filter baskets and filters. Drain your spa completely as described in the instructions above. Vacuum water from the spa’s main drain fitting with a wet/dry vacuum. Remove drain plugs from the front of the pumps. Disconnect the unions from both sides of the pump. Blow any remaining water out of the jets and equipment area with the wet/dry vacuum. Cover your spa with a good spa cover and an all-weather tarp to ensure that neither rain nor snow enters the spa Note: All manifolds are plumbed in series directly to the main drain (see example at right), making it easier to remove water and reducing the possibility of freeze damage.

Hot Tub Games for Your Family and Friends We all know that spas are relaxing—warm water envelops the body and relieves the tension that builds in our muscles. But what about creating memories and having fun? Cal Spas hot tubs are great for that, too! Here are some games that you can play in your hot tub with your friends and family. Have a blast! 1. Cards We know what you’re thinking: how can I play cards in water?! Well, most cards are laminated in plastic, making them waterproof. Use an upside down Frisbee and bam! You have a playing table. You can play any card game you like! 2. Hockey Before you get scared off by the idea of a hockey puck in a hot tub, note this simple substitution: use ping pong balls or rubber duckies! The object of the game is to get the “puck” to touch your opponent’s side of the spa. But there’s a catch! You can’t touch the “puck,” but you can splash it and blow on it! 3. Don’t Sink the Cup If you have red solo cups (or any plastic cups, really), this game is simple yet entertaining! Take one cup and place it in the center of the hot tub, the correct way up. With a separate cup filled with water, each player takes a 2-second turn pouring water into the middle cup. But be careful! The player who sinks the cup loses, and the rest of the group picks their penalty.
