FEELING OF BEING ALIVE… Just imagine immersing yourself in warm water as the cool air and water droplets brush against your face. That feeling is the extraordinary feeling of being alive and in nature and comfortable in your own skin. STAY HYDRATED… To keep warm, bring a nice hot tea or hot chocolate in a tumbler. When soaking in a hot tub, your body will flush any toxins you have out through your pores. After your session, when you go inside we recommend you make a nice hydrating drink after you soak in the rain. This will help keep you feeling good and healthy. SAFETY FIRST… If you are going to pull a stunt such as soaking in a hot tub in the rain make sure you are fully prepared. In a plastic case keep slip resistant shoes, a cozy warm robe and towel inside along with anything else you need. This way, you are fully prepared to comfortably exit the hot tub and go back inside. DO NOT GO IN WATER DURING THUNDER AND LIGHTNING… Please remember, if thunder and lightning are happening, then it is not safe to be in the hot tub in the rain. Safety first is key to any mission. FOREVER AND ALWAYS… We truly hope you enjoy your Cal Spas hot tub whether is rain or shines.

Swim Spas in Fall Leaves are changing colors, the temperature dips down to brisk weather, and the swimming pool may be closed for the season. But, did you know you can enjoy a swim spa all year round? Just like a portable hot tub, swim spas emit heated spa water for therapy and swim resistance. The warmth of the spa water is perfect to enjoy during the cooler Fall months. Swim spas are perfect any time of year, turn down the heat in summer and turn up the heat in winter – and find a happy medium in between. Cal Spas Swim Spas come in an array of sizes to appeal to any family size. Use a Cal Spas Swim-Pro Swim & Fitness Spa for health optimization and leisure. Each Cal Spas Swim Spa is equipped with 1, 2, or 3 river jets for treadmill swimming, and a dedicated set of hydrotherapy jets to relax sore muscles before or after a workout. If you want to enjoy a simple dip in your swim spa, turn of the river jets and turn on the hydrostreamers for a fun get together inside the spa with the entire family. Optional sound systems are available to create an entertainment destination in your very own backyard. Find more information about the Cal Spas Swim-Pro Swim & Fitness Spas at www.calspas.com
Winterizing Your Hot Tub In many areas of the country, the temperature drops below 32°F (0°C). We recommend that you always have your spa full of water and running at normal spa temperatures (80°F to 100°F, 26.7°C to 37.8°C). This will help reduce the risk of freezing in your spa and your spa’s equipment. Warning: If you find the need to drain your spa, be aware of the potential of freezing in your spas equipment and plumbing. Even if the directions below are followed perfectly, there is no guarantee that your spa will not suffer freeze damage. Freeze damage is not covered by your warranty. Open all filter covers. Remove the filter baskets and filters. Drain your spa completely as described in the instructions above. Vacuum water from the spa’s main drain fitting with a wet/dry vacuum. Remove drain plugs from the front of the pumps. Disconnect the unions from both sides of the pump. Blow any remaining water out of the jets and equipment area with the wet/dry vacuum. Cover your spa with a good spa cover and an all-weather tarp to ensure that neither rain nor snow enters the spa Note: All manifolds are plumbed in series directly to the main drain (see example at right), making it easier to remove water and reducing the possibility of freeze damage.
Why Swim Spas Swim Pro Swim & Fitness Spas, by Cal Spas, are an excellent solution for an at home aquatic exercise, and make the perfect alternative to any in-ground swimming pool. Rather than choosing between a pool and a hot tub, gain the benefits of both. Our Swim Spas are designed to be enjoyed by the entire family —whether swimming, relaxing, or enjoying playtime. Unique features, such as sound systems and hydro-streamers, can create a wonderful ambiance in any yard. For individuals suffering from joint issues or arthritis, a Swim Spa can provide a low impact workout, to keep the body active without the unnecessary stress. Adjustable jets allow swimmers to control the speed, allowing for faster-paced swims and slower-paced swims to work on form. Additional Cal Flex spa equipment allows you to build muscle mass and increase your endurance. This equipment is bungee and resistance training, providing a solid workout with a much lower impact than traditional weight training regimens. Practice Self-care with Our Hot Tubs If you keep up with blog content on the Internet, then you have probably read the term “self-care” somewhere, at some point. “Self-care” is, essentially, a term used to describe how you take care of yourself. It’s about taking the time to check in with you, and asking yourself what do I need in this moment? As self-care has become a prominent topic both on and offline, more and more lists of hobbies and activities, of recommendations and prescriptions, have surfaced. Cal Spas is here to add our recommendation to your list of self-care habits—dip into warm water. Warm water immersion is nothing new. It’s been around for ages, and for good reason: warm water tends to relieve many different types of pain. According to the Arthritis Foundation’s website, warm water immersion “reduces the force of gravity that’s compressing the joint, offers 360-degree support for sore limbs, can decrease swelling and inflammation and increase circulation.” The American Psychological Association (APA) estimates that millions of people suffer from chronic stress, meaning that millions of people have muscles in a constant tense state. Their website states that this chronic stress causes issues in multiple systems in the body, such as your respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems. A Cal Spas hot tub can help you take care of you. Immersing yourself in the warm waters of one of our hot tubs can help combat pain in joints, as well as relieve tension in muscles. If you could combat stress and better your health, why wouldn’t you?

Have You Heard About Our Adjustable Therapy System™? Here at Cal Spas, we understand that relaxation is one of your top priorities when it comes to buying a hot tub. That’s why Cal Spas offers our exclusive Adjustable Therapy System™ (ATS). The ATS has 7 massage patterns to choose from, allowing you to target specific problem areas for the ultimate relaxation therapy. Each ATS comes with a dedicated control panel that is installed at arm’s length to choose a massage pattern directly from the ATS seat. The warm spa water and powerful jets will soothe muscle aches and joint pain. The ATS has its own dedicated pump, which allows you to operate the ATS jets rather than running all the jets in the spa. This means your spa will run more efficiently, and at a lower cost. The ATS is available as a standard feature on the Platinum™ Spas, and is a premium option on the Escape™ Spas, Escape Plus™ Spas, Platinum Plus™ Spas, and the Swim Pro™ Swim & Fitness Spas.
Hot Tub Games for Your Family and Friends We all know that spas are relaxing—warm water envelops the body and relieves the tension that builds in our muscles. But what about creating memories and having fun? Cal Spas hot tubs are great for that, too! Here are some games that you can play in your hot tub with your friends and family. Have a blast! 1. Cards We know what you’re thinking: how can I play cards in water?! Well, most cards are laminated in plastic, making them waterproof. Use an upside down Frisbee and bam! You have a playing table. You can play any card game you like! 2. Hockey Before you get scared off by the idea of a hockey puck in a hot tub, note this simple substitution: use ping pong balls or rubber duckies! The object of the game is to get the “puck” to touch your opponent’s side of the spa. But there’s a catch! You can’t touch the “puck,” but you can splash it and blow on it! 3. Don’t Sink the Cup If you have red solo cups (or any plastic cups, really), this game is simple yet entertaining! Take one cup and place it in the center of the hot tub, the correct way up. With a separate cup filled with water, each player takes a 2-second turn pouring water into the middle cup. But be careful! The player who sinks the cup loses, and the rest of the group picks their penalty.
